About Me
Change happens through movement and movement heals - Joseph Pilates
I am Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Women's Health. I graduated from Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 2011 with BSc honours in Physiotherapy.
I have worked as a Senior Women's Health Physiotherapist in the public health service and previously in private practice. n 2023, I was appointed as the clinical lead to a team of dedicated women's health physiotherapists at The Coombe Hospital.
I set up Poise Physiotherapy in 2022 when I saw the need for accessible pilates classes and women's health physiotherapy in Wexford. I
As well as treating patients with a variety of pelvic health issues, including problems with continence, painful conditions and sexual issues, I enjoy patient education through the poise physiotherapy online workshops - labour preparation, postnatal recovery and adore your core.
I have been teaching matwork pilates since 2011 and completed training with APPI. Poise Pilates Classes combine elements of pilates, yoga, barre and cardio to help women train for the movement requirements associated with daily life!
I am a member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Women’s Health and Continence clinical interest group of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
I love learning and regularly attend courses to expand my knowledge and skills to provide holistic care for my patients. I am also interested in the education of physiotherapy students and other healthcare professionals, and in 2021, I completed a postgraduate diploma in clinical education with NUIG.
I enjoy spending time with my family (you'll often see my mum or husband helping me bring pilates equipment to and from the physio space in Blackwater), reading (I'll always have a book recommendation if you ask!), swimming in the sea (you can spot me at Tinnaberna Beach on Sunday mornings) and heading off on adventures (the raven walk is a favourite - below you'll see a picture of our dearly missed border collie Finn and I after this walk) with my husband - MJ and our cockapoo, Reilly (our cat Morgan prefers to stay at home!).
I'm looking forward to meeting you in clinic or at the mat for poise pilates - if you have any questions please get in touch via email.
