Meet Áine Kelly
Clinical Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist
“Change happens through movement and movement heals.” — Joseph Pilates
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Women’s Health, pelvic health and postnatal recovery. Through Poise Physiotherapy, I support women with compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to every stage of life.
I graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and currently work across both private practice and the public health service as a Clinical Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist. In 2025, I became the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in The Coombe Postnatal Hub.

I founded Poise Physiotherapy in 2022 after recognising the need for accessible women’s health physiotherapy and pilates services in Wexford.
At Poise Physiotherapy, specialist assessment and bespoke, holistic treatment are at the core of the clinic’s values. I provide a wide range of women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapy services including individual assessment, group classes and online workshops.
Pelvic health concerns such as incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, constipation and pregnancy or postnatal-related symptoms are treated regularly and successfully at Poise Physiotherapy.
Pelvic floor rehabilitation is about far more than pelvic floor exercises alone. Following a detailed assessment, every treatment plan is tailored individually to target both presenting symptoms and their underlying causes - helping women return to the activities and quality of life they enjoy most.
About Poise Physiotherapy

Women’s Health, Pilates & Education
As well as treating women with a variety of pelvic health concerns, I am passionate about patient education through Poise Physiotherapy workshops focused on labour preparation, postnatal recovery and core rehabilitation.
I have been teaching matwork pilates since 2011 and completed my pilates training with APPI. Poise Pilates classes combine elements of pilates, yoga, barre and cardio-based movement to help women build strength, confidence and resilience for the physical demands of everyday life.
Qualifications & Continued Professional Development
I have a degree in General Nursing from Trinity College Dublin, a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland and a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Education from NUIG. I am currently completing my Master’s in Public Health.
I regularly attend specialist training and professional development courses to continue expanding my knowledge and provide holistic, evidence-based care for my patients.
I am also a member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Women’s Health and Continence clinical interest group of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Life Outside The Clinic
Outside of clinic life, I enjoy spending time with my family - you’ll often spot my mum or husband helping me transport pilates equipment to and from the physio space in Blackwater!
I love reading (I’ll always have a book recommendation if you ask), sea swimming at Tinnaberna Beach on Sunday mornings and exploring the outdoors around Wexford with my husband MJ and our cockapoo, Reilly. Our cat Morgan prefers the comfort of home!
The Raven walk is a particular favourite and holds special memories of adventures with our dearly missed border collie, Finn.
